Get Involved

We want you to get involved in our Customer Engagement group. We’re not talking about stuffy meetings, we just want to know that you’re happy to be contacted about getting involved in projects, testing groups, workshops and other work that interests you so we can offer better services and improve the ones we already have.
This could be anything from testing our online services, reviewing our policies, our repairs and maintenance, to the additional services we offer like employment.

It is important that we consult with our customers when major decisions are being made – in fact, it one of the promises in our Customer Charter.
We will consult with customers on any proposals that significantly affect our service offers and policies.
We shall also consult at least once every three years on the best way of involving customers in the governance and scrutiny of Abri’s housing management service.

The Resident Scrutiny Group reviews the services delivered by Abri
They make sure we’re doing everything we should be. This includes monitoring our performance and decision-making process. They also use their findings to make recommendations for improvements and to provide support where it’s needed. The group follow the progress of changes and improvements through regular follow up reviews.
The Scrutiny Group has both Abri residents and independent members. It’s led by Kevin Williamson, who was appointed as Chair of Scrutiny in July 2020.

There is a direct link between the Scrutiny Group and the Board

The work of the group is vital and to ensure this is recognised by the organisation, the Chair is a co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee. This ensures there is a direct link between the Board and the Scrutiny Group which this is further strengthened by an annual Co-Regulation event. This is when members of the Scrutiny Group are invited to meet with the Board and Executive Team and challenge them and hold them to account for the decisions made during that year.

We’re always on the look out for people who’d like to get involved

We are on the lookout for committed individuals who want to make a positive difference to the communities they live in, by getting involved and becoming a member of the Resident Scrutiny Group. We will provide you with the necessary equipment and training to enable you to be involved with this essential work from the comfort of your own home during these uncertain times and will ensure you receive a well structured induction to support your activities.
When safe to do so, we will also be arranging a face to face team building event to create even more opportunities for involvement and all expenses such as travel and subsistence will be covered.
There has never been a more exciting and vital time to come on board and become a member of the Resident Scrutiny Group; we need YOU to help ensure our service delivery is the best it can be and work in partnership with the organisation to listen, act and make change.

Together with Tenants

We're working with other Housing Providers and the National Housing Federation on a sector-wide initiative focused on strengthening the relationship between housing association landlords and the people that live in their homes.
