If we go ahead with the partnership, it means Yarlington would become a member of the Radian Group. The Radian Group includes a number of different housing associations who are all a part of the parent organisation, Radian.
As part of our discussions about a partnership, Yarlington and Radian propose that one of Radian Group’s housing associations, called Windsor and District Housing Association (or WDHA for short), merges with Yarlington. This would happen through something called a ‘transfer of engagements’ which means that WDHA will transfer all of its assets including properties and tenancies/leases to us.
This transfer of WDHA into Yarlington would make us a much larger and stronger organisation; we currently have 12,000 properties and WDHA have 5,000 properties.
While we would be a bigger organisation, our commitment to our customers won’t change; where there are homes there will be locally based staff to continue to support you and your community in the best way possible.
The transfer would also provide you with the benefits that come with a larger group including security for the future and access to great services. We will also be able to build more needed homes.
I would also like to reassure you that the conditions of your tenancy or lease will not change as a result of the new partnership and the transfer of WDHA into Yarlington. You will still have the same level of legal rights and protection and Yarlington will remain your landlord/freeholder.
As we consider this partnership, it’s really important that we hear your views and opinions.
