We want our customers to thrive in our homes and communities and that’s why we offer a range of services and support that we call social choice. We carefully consider where we invest and ensure we work with partners that share our values to provide you the best opportunities to reach your potential.
To see everyone we worked with and supported last year, take a look at our end of year Enterprise Investment report.
Alternatively, here’s a snapshot of some of the projects we delivered last year:
Inspired to Achieve (i2a)
We work closely with i2a to help you access employment. This includes everything from CV building and interview skills to upskilling to access better jobs and even develop careers.
I2a have supported more than 1,000 people into employment all with 100% customer satisfaction.
“The i2a team is light years ahead, I still can’t believe that I told you my perfect job 2 and a half years ago and now I’ve got it.”
Our Financial Responsibility Team work with a range of partners to encourage our customers to take control of their finances. We currently invest in Citizens Advice South Somerset for free impartial debt advice. 178 customers benefited from this support last year.
We’ve been working alongside Cosmic to support customers be digitally confident, helping access and use the internet, use online services and even put wi-fi in our Independent Living schemes.
“Cosmic have been a great help to me with my work, helping me to use my mobile phone and tablet so that I can set up my work programmes. I had no knowledge of doing these things and found it very difficult but with their help I can now do my job.”
Reduce isolation and loneliness
We’re working with Spark Somerset to deliver nine Community Cafes to provide guidance on health and wellbeing issues and to access services and support. We’re also helping train Community Connectors to signpost customers to support and have even run a reading scheme with a local primary school.
But that’s not all we’ve done, alongside our work with plenty more partners, our Community Fund provided £30,000 last year to small, local initiatives last year.
We look forward to investing even more this year to continue supporting you and your community and between 2018-2021 will have invested £1.5 million!
