Just because we are physically apart it doesn’t mean we have to be socially distant. Through our Take Part project with Spark Somerset we’re reaching out to Somerset residents virtually.
With support from Cosmic, you can engage with the local community online via their dedicated Facebook page. We’re encouraging you to stay connected and try activities that could have a positive impact on health and wellbeing. By partnering with other organisations to share ideas and signposting you to reputable information, we aim to empower you to manage your health and wellbeing, as well as look out for one another.
Corona Response Yeovil
Community groups in Yeovil are providing support for anyone in self-isolation or is vulnerable and needs help. They can help with:
- Essential food shopping/delivery for those unable to get out to the shops
- Collecting prescriptions
- Assistance in setting up online shopping
- Dog walking for those self isolating and unable to exercise their pet
- A listening service/friendly phone call
Call 01935 530084 and a coordinator will connect you to the most appropriate local group, maximising local knowledge and capacity. The groups are Covid-19 community groups or local Churches and have received support from Spark Somerset. The helpline and coordinator have kindly been provided by Yeovil Community Church.
Could you help? Corona Helpers
Spark Somerset has also launched Corona Helpers, a free online platform on which individuals can pledge their support, and organisations and groups can let people know what they are doing and how to get involved. If your group is coordinating community support in response to COVID-19, you can use Corona Helpers to promote your work and recruit and manage new volunteers.
