On Monday, the Prime Minister shared the welcome news that England will move to the final stage of Covid-19 restrictions on Monday 19 July 2021.
But it’s important to remember that the pandemic is certainly not over. We’ve also seen an increase in cases of Covid-19 in the areas our customers live. Keeping you, your family and our colleagues safe is always our priority. So even though more restrictions will lift on Monday, Abri will continue to deliver services safely. Here’s what you need to know:
Our services will continue as they are
We’ll continue running all our services in line with the latest government guidance about working in people’s homes. This includes our repairs and maintenance services, gas servicing, grounds maintenance, estate and property inspections and lettings service.
We’ll also continue to let properties, carry out essential housing management visits, grounds maintenance and provide additional financial, employment and community support. We will also continue with our welfare calls.
We’ll continue to wear PPE
When we’re working with you or in your home, we’ll still wear PPE.
From Monday it’ll no longer be a legal requirement to wear a face mask but to keep everyone safe, we do encourage you to wear one when we’re working in your home. Or we may ask you to move to another room in your house to maintain social distancing.
If you have an appointment with us, and you or anyone in your household is showing Covid-19 symptoms or isolating, please let us know and we’ll rearrange the appointment.
Independent Living communal areas will open
All indoor communal meeting spaces, including lounges will reopen from Monday 19 July. They’ve all had a deep clean and will only be able to be used by customers for now. We’ll also welcome back services like hairdressers and chiropodists and will make sure they carry their services out safely.
We’ll offer our employment support both in person and digitally. We’ll run events and training courses on a case by case basis with some held in person if safe to do so, and others online. For more information about job clubs, courses and events, get in touch with us.
All adults in England can book a vaccine
Did you know that all adults in England can now book to have the vaccine. Research shows that two doses of the vaccine provide strong protection against the virus, including the Delta variant. It’ll also:
- Significantly reduce your risk of getting seriously ill or dying from Covid-19
- Reduces your risk of getting symptoms of Covid-19
- Will help you reduce your risk of catching and spreading Covid-19
