How to protect yourself from scams and fraud

It’s important that you can spot fraudulent calls, texts and emails, and keep your details safe.

We wanted to share a few tips on how you can do this.

How to spot scammers and fraudsters?

Scammers often seem friendly and professional. They work in lots of different ways using texts, emails and calls, all with the aim of trying to get your sensitive data. They might even try to convince you they’re working for us, or another company you know well.

If you’re ever in doubt on a call, put the phone down. And if you get a text or email that you’re not quite sure about, don’t click any links. If a scammer makes threats towards you, it’s important that you get in contact with the police.

Worried you’ve been scammed?

If you think you might have been a victim of fraud, either because you’ve given details over the phone, clicked a link in a text or email, or provided any sensitive details you think you shouldn’t have – there are a few things you can do.

  1. Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information.

  2. Change passwords to any accounts you may have given out details for.
