It's time to talk money

If you find it hard to talk about money there's help available

4 November

Many of us keep unwanted money secrets from the people closest to us. If you find it hard to talk about money, you’re not alone.

Do you worry about keeping on top of your rent payments? Are you concerned about the rising costs of household bills? Are you facing redundancy or at risk of losing your job?

Abri can help you access support around money management. Or you can use 'Money Helper'. This is part of the Money and Pensions Service, something the government set up to help everyone feel more in control of their finances. It's free, confidential and complete impartial.

They offer advice around benefits, savings and money troubles, and how you can get help if you’re worried about any of these things.

Budget Planner

Money Helper also offers a budget planner to help you know exactly where your money is being spent, and how much you’ve got coming in. Knowing where every pound is being spent is a great first step to starting your savings or getting out of debt.

The planner is a place to record all your spending, so you won’t forget anything, as well as a breakdown of your finances by category. Money Helper will also give you some tips when you’re finished.
